Mata Kuliah Essential Writing Skills (2 SKS)

Deskripsi Mata Kuliah :

This course is a continuation of paragraph writing course and is designed to help its participants master the concept of descriptive and narrative essay writing which integrates the process of writing, essay structure and principles of unity and coherence. Accordingly, the general discussion in this course includes inventing ideas and limiting subject of discussion as well as essay structure. To accommodate the achievement of learning outcome, the course is conducted through lecturer’s presentation, class discussion, and writing practices for academic purposes.This course is a continuation of paragraph writing course and is designed to help its participants master the concept of descriptive and narrative essay writing which integrates the process of writing, essay structure and principles of unity and coherence. Capaian Mata Kuliah :
  1. Applying Paragraph Writing which (including writing process, parts of the paragraph, four types of paragraph) are developed as foundation on writing skills PLO-13 (KU-1).
  2. Comprehending basic writing, which (focusing on pre-writing, drafting, reviewing and revising, and rewriting) are introduced through descriptive, opinion, comparison/contrast, and problem/solution paragraphs PLO-30 (KK-3)
  3. Composing descriptive and narrative writings, which include main ideas, supporting details and simple grammar patterns, are developed as foundation on writing skills PLO-13 (KU-1)
  4. Comprehending basic writings, which focus on main ideas, supporting details and simple grammar, are introduced through descriptive and narrative writings PLO-28 (KK-1)
  5. Being precise on descriptive and narrative writings and managing them in the process until completed PLO-30 (KK-3)
  6. Embracing the value of research to explore new ideas through reading and writing PLO-26 (P-5) .
