Mata Kuliah Introduction TO Translation (2 SKS)

Deskripsi Mata Kuliah :

The course in designed to be an introduction to the theory and practice of translation, from English to Indonesian, and vice versa. The course will cover the essential of translation in a variety of texts (i.e. literary, legal, leaflet). The course includes regular translation assignments as well as a supervised final project. The class will be conducted in both Indonesian and English as needed, as the instructional materials and activities encompass both languages. The prerequisites are therefore a strong command in written skills (reading and writing) as well as a solid knowledge of Indonesian and English grammar.

Capaian Mata Kuliah :

1. Students’ ability to outline the theoretical bases of translation from English into Indonesia and vice versa; (CLO 1)

2. Students’ ability to produce of translating various texts from English into Indonesian and vice versa; (CLO 4)

3. Students’ ability to justify translation products based on the methods, techniques, and procedures of translation.(CLO 4)
